Monday night, 9pm

"Checking the latest updates for football and tennis news on the bus. Browsed headlines for about 3 minutes, then went off to Twitter."

- Kevin

On the bus

Monday evening, 7.47pm
"At Vertigo 42 Bar, checking for restaurants for dinner around Liverpool Street. Trying to search for reviews on the app.
Reception up here on the 42nd floor is bad."
- Deana

At the bar

Monday evening, 7.30pm

"Did a quick scan of the headlines on the mobile website while I waited for my turn. Good for quickly skimming through stories."

- Kevin

At the hairdresser's

Monday afternoon, 3pm

"Browsing new updates. I'd loaded new refreshed data when having a coffee before getting on the tube, and it reads fine. It's slightly annoying that the app still displays news from the previous day. I would rather have an app that shows real time updates."

- Pauline

On the tube

Monday afternoon, 1.30pm
"Checking the day's top stories.
It’s taking too long to ‘fetch articles’ (about 3-5 mins on average). This is the same reason why I’d uninstalled my Guardian app earlier this year.
My download preferences are set to receive scheduled updates for the app, though the poor wifi signal in my area is probably to blame."
- Elizabeth

In the garden

Monday afternoon, 12.30pm
"Checking the latest news on the England vs India cricket match.
I read the article, then at the bottom under ‘related subjects’, I clicked on ‘India in England 2011’ and looked at another article."
- Arun

At the cricket match

Monday afternoon, 12.20pm

"Wanted to read an article I'd seen in the G2 print edition about the coalition.
Took a while to find the article using the search function, as the article was dated the day before.
Wanted to share the article on Facebook, but no option to."

- Charmaine

At the cafe

Monday morning, 10am

"Was reading the Metro, and then suddenly thought: 'Hey, I can get better content than this!'
Watched Norman Jay's Good Times mini documentary. Read Charlie Brooker on the riots."

- Joe

On the train

Monday morning, 8-ish am

"Checking headlines. I didn't click to read any of the stories, just scanned for headlines.
Takes a while to load though. Probably because my phone is rubbish."

- Tom

In bed

Monday morning, 7.40am

"Catching up on weekend news I'd missed.

Took a while to load. My screen zoomed out to accommodate the entire mobile website homescreen, which had so much content I couldn't even make out headlines or sections. Tried zooming, but it was awkward.

Clicked on an image instead. Went back to homepage and tried selecting stories from the left sidebar.

Selected a story, but the text was so small, I gave up after the third paragraph."

- Ollie

On the train

Monday morning, 4am

"Browsing the morning's headlines while waiting for the bus. It usually takes a while for the images to load, especially so early in the morning."

- Pauline
